Dads Who Inspire Me. Meet Bill Latchford.
The safety of our children on and off the Internet is a concern that resides in all parents, both mothers and fathers.
Countering the Influence of Online Ads on Our Daughters
These days, parents not only have to protect and prepare their sons and daughters from what the real world has in store for them, they also have the tough and overwhelming job of making sure their children’s online lives aren’t jeopardized. Influence from mainstream media doesn’t make this any easier.

Yoursphere’s goal, as you’ve read or heard me say many times, is to put your child’s online safety first and to provide an age and content appropriate online experience. With all the wonderful benefits the Internet has to offer, our goal is to leverage them all, to your child’s benefit.
Teaching Our Kids Internet Safety - Parents or Teachers Responsibility? How About Both.
As we all know, kids today have something that you and I didn’t have when we were younger—an endless encyclopedia of information called the Internet. Kids can use this infinite source of information to their advantage both on and off of school grounds; but it’s obvious that as online communities like social networks become more and more popular, there will also be more instances of cyber-crime—cyberbullying and online sex offenders are just a couple of the standouts in this topic. Unfortunately, among parents and teachers there has been the on-going, indecisive argument about who is ultimately responsible when it comes to educating our children about Internet safety.
Since When Was it OK to Talk to Strangers?
One of the Moms Who Inspire Me, Sue Scheff, took the liberty of informing parents about a new and potentially dangerous live webcam service on the Internet. The new website is called Chatroulette. In the site, strangers can chat with other strangers on a 1-to-1 basis via their webcam. Because of this, Chatroulette is easily securing its position as a new threat to parents who are trying to ensure their child’s Internet safety.
Google Buzz Not Ideal for Our Kids
As if Facebook, Twitter and the dozens of other social networks out there weren’t enough; Google has decided that they too want a voice in the Internet’s most popular means of connecting people.
